About Athina

Athina Pentsou has been an associate at Feirich/Mager/Green/Ryan since the Fall of 2020. She represents clients in a variety of areas, with a focus on insurance defense, complex commercial litigation, employment discrimination, real estate disputes, landlord/tenant litigation and evictions, as well as business formation and taxation. She has participated in the successful defense and prosecution of matters in state and federal courts in Illinois and Missouri, representing a wide variety of clients, from individuals and family-owned businesses to multi-national corporations. Athina is committed to advocating for her clients’ best interest.

She was born in Greece, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) and a Master’s Degree with Honors in Civil Law (LL.M.) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2011, she joined the Athens Bar Association, Greece, and focused her practice on bankruptcy law, creditors’ rights, and debt management.

In 2016, she moved to the United States and enrolled in the Southern Illinois University School of Law, from where she obtained her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 2019. During her studies, she was awarded the Judge Richard E. Richman Ethics Scholarship, received 7 CALI Awards for Academic Excellence, and served as the Chief Articles Editor of the Southern Illinois University Law Journal. In 2017, she completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Magistrate Judge Reona J. Daly at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.

Athina is licensed to practice before the State Courts of Illinois and Missouri, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, as well as in Greece. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Jackson County Bar Association (“JCBA”), and the Athens Bar Association, Greece.

Being actively involved in the local legal community, Athina currently serves as the Jackson County Bar Association Vice President and maintains an active role in the community through volunteering and community service.
