About Kara
Ms. Jones was born in Belleville. She graduated magna cum laude and received her Bachelor of Science in business administration in 1991 from St. Louis University. She attended Southern Illinois University School of Law and received her Juris Doctorate degree in 1994.
Ms. Jones is a member of the Appellate Lawyers Association, Jackson County Bar Association, and Illinois State Bar Association. She also appears before the appellate court. She is licensed to practice in federal court in the Southern District of Illinois, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Jones has previously been a member of the Rotary Club of Carbondale where she served as Secretary and was awarded the Rotarian of the Year award. She was also previously a member of the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois where she was awarded Board Member of Year twice. She currently lives in Marion, Illinois with her husband.
