Mr. Ryan was born in Jacksonville, Illinois in 1951. He received his bachelor of arts degree in 1973 from the University of Denver. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Mr. Ryan moved to Carbondale to attend Southern Illinois University School of Law.
During law school, Mr. Ryan was on the dean’s list and received the American Jurisprudence Award for academic achievement. Since graduating from law school, Mr. Ryan has held positions in several professional associations, including the Jackson County Bar, Illinois State Bar, and American Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys and the American Society of Law and Medicine.
Mr. Ryan is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Kentucky, and Missouri. He is also licensed to practice in the federal courts in the Southern District of Illinois, Western District of Kentucky, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U. S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Ryan’s primary practice is in the defense of hospital and medical negligence cases, employment and civil rights claims, product liability, and local governmental tort claims.
