Jonathan graduated with Honors from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 2001. During law school he served as Managing Editor of the Oklahoma Law Review and participated on numerous moot court teams. He was the recipient of the Frank C. Love Scholarship for Excellence in Legal Writing, the Oklahoma Bar Foundation 3L Award for Outstanding Merit, and the O.U. Legal Clinic Distinguished Student Award. He was selected for membership in the Order of Barristers and the Order of the Coif.
Jonathan began his legal career with an active duty obligation to the United States Navy's Judge Advocate General's Corps. Jonathan was selected to serve as the Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida where he prosecuted felony crimes having a nexus with the Department of Defense. He continues to serve as a Commander in the Judge Advocates General's Corps of the United States Navy Reserve. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2007) and Operation Enduring Freedom (2013). Jonathan and his wife moved to southern Illinois in 2005.
Jonathan is licensed to practice in the states of Illinois and Oklahoma, as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. Although he performs a variety of legal services for FMGR'S clients, his primary focus areas include civil litigation, insurance defense, workers' compensation, business and employment law.
