Kevin Mechler was born in Waterloo, Illinois and received his bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University in 1979. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1982, where he received the American Jurisprudence award for academic achievement in Torts.
Mr. Mechler has extensive experience in the defense of litigation and workers’ compensation claims on behalf of insurance and corporate clients. He also represents his clients in employment and labor issues which often arise during the handling of workers’ compensation claims. He has appeared in trial and appellate courts throughout the State of Illinois and regularly appears before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. He is also licensed in Kentucky and has represented clients before the Kentucky Board of Workers Claims. Mr. Mechler’s practice focuses on the defense of workers’ compensation claims at all procedural levels. It also includes the defense of civil litigation as well.
Mr. Mechler is a member of the Jackson County, Illinois State, Kentucky State and American Bar Associations, and is a member of the Workers’ Compensation, Tort, and Insurance sections of those organizations. He is also a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. He serves on the Workers’ Compensation Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association and is a frequent speaker at seminars on workers’ compensation topics. He has also authored articles on various workers’ compensation topics which have been published in legal publications.
