About Brian
Brian Smith practices in workers’ compensation, personal injury, civil litigation, appellate practice, and education law.
Brian graduated cum laude from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a BA in political science in 2001. He earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2005, where he received the Trial Advocacy Outstanding Advocate Award that same year.
Brian is admitted to practice before the State Courts of Illinois as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. He regularly represents his clients before workers’ compensation arbitrators throughout Southern Illinois and beyond, as well as before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. He also regularly appears before the Illinois courts of appeals.
Brian is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Williamson County Bar Association, and is a Past President of the Jackson County Bar Association. He serves as President of the Southern Illinois Inn of Court. He is a member of both the National and State Councils of School Attorneys. He is a Past President of the Southern Illinois Workers’ Compensation Bar.
Additionally, Brian serves on the Board of Directors of CASA of Williamson County, and is a member of the Marion Rotary Club.
